BCAN Training for Quality First

Quality First, devised by Birmingham Voluntary Sectory Council, is for community organisations to reach quality assurance standards that are recognised by funders. Quality First will also prepare the way for the next level of accreditation such as PQASSO (now called Trusted Charity) or AQS.
Quality First begins with level one accreditation, followed by level two accreditation after a year’s review. By working through quality areas 1-9 you will eventually have evidence for each topic or have identified the gaps and the next action to take.
Level two accreditation takes place when each quality area can be measured, where appropriate, at the end of the year.
Aims of Quality First Workshop one Level one
To improve overall awareness and understanding of key quality assurance principles. To support the BCAN attendee in successfully completing level one accreditation. To identify quality areas that need support for continuous improvement in order to achieve the level two accreditation by the end of year one.
At the end of Workshop one Level one you will be:
Clearer about the Purpose, Standards and Values of your organisation
Able to identify which policies you need.
Clearer about governance.
Able to demonstrate how the decision process works at Board/Trustee level.
Clearer about monitoring and data collection.
Clearer about why feedback is needed.
